Health Sports & Fitness

We care. Our goal in every issue is to help motivate you to choose a healthier lifestyle by incorporating more movement into your life, have a healthier home, and eat healthier.

Recipes

Many of us at Traverse Bay Lifestyles enjoy cooking and eating. We also enjoy learning about the health benefits of different foods and spices and we enjoy sharing our love of food. You’ll typically find a recipe (or two or three) in each issue within the pages of our Food and Beverage Guide.

Community Spotlights

We love to include an entire section about a local area/community every quarter. From the history to what makes an area unique and special, the communities throughout the five-county area make this region a destination. Whether you are a full-time resident, visit seasonally, or are just on vacation, we are always excited to share their stories.

Gift Guide

Every spring and winter we include a gift guide that provides an abundance or reasons to shop local. If you are looking for special gifts for weddings and anniversaries, bridal and baby showers, adoptions, retirement, graduations, a new home, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, birthdays, Easter, Christmas, Hanukkah and/or other religious holidays, a thank you, a just because and more - we have great suggestions!

Food & Beverage

This is the last section of every quarterly issue where we strive to share the most up-to-date listings in the five-county region for your next meal or carry out. We often highlight many establishment offering spirits, and wineries, breweries, specialty markets/counters/delis, bakeries/desserts/sweets, farm markets (brick and mortar), farmers markets, and tea and coffee shops. Along with recipes, we also offer articles about certain foods and their health benefits.

Why do we offer all of these sections in Traverse Bay Lifestyles?

By now, many of you have heard of Blue Zones. There are five Blue Zones in the world where people live longer (over 100 years old) and are generally much happier and healthier. We know that a supportive community, laughter, helping others (see our Love Our Communities page), faith, good friends, supportive family, staying active, eating healthy, being around other people, and enjoying the outdoors are all part of the Blue Zone communities that contribute to a long, healthy, happy life. Although we are not a Blue Zone, this beautiful region is the perfect setting to encourage our readers to stay active. That's why we strive to share articles that inspire a joyful and healthy existence in every issue of Traverse Bay Lifestyles.
